Shipping Support

SUMMARY: The Shipping Support resource will work closely with our production, quality and project delivery teams to accurately pick, pack and prepare for shipment materials and finished products from our facility that demands exceptional attention to detail and quality of work. The candidate must be willing and eager to work in an ISO-9001compliant small company, fast-paced environment where each employee wears multiple hats and fully embraces the get-it-done attitude. The position will report directly to the department supervisor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include, but not limited to:

  • Read and comprehend shipping and packaging documentation and instructions to accurately pick the materials or finished products that are to be prepared and packaged for shipping.
  • Determine the correct size, shape and material requirements of the packaging necessary to comply with instructions
  • Capable of safely using power tools such as table saws, radial arm saws, portable saws, nail guns, hand drills / drivers, etc. necessary to accurately build, band and complete wooden crates
  • Operate a fork truck to move materials and finished products around the facility as well as load or unload trucks
  • Perform safety checks on all equipment and tools being used as part of their normal job duties.
  • Complete final shipping documentation and enter any updates into ERP System
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
  • One year certificate from college or technical school or 12 months related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret safety and procedures furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
  • 1+ years of fork truck experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong ability to solve practical problems and deal with variables in real time
PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Regularly required to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Work within a production environment capability to perform physically demanding tasks over extended periods, often in varying environmental conditions (e.g., hot, cold, or humid environments)
  • Ability to perform visual checks and handle materials and finished products responsibly while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Frequently required to use hands to operate equipment.
  • Frequently must bend, reach, and stoop.
  • Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
