Role Description The Machinist role is a full-time, on-site position located at APC’s manufacturing facility in Mineral Wells, TX. The Machinist will set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools to produce precision components used in APC’s antenna systems, following engineering drawings, work orders, and production schedules. Daily responsibilities include selecting appropriate tooling and materials, performing measurements and inspections to ensure parts meet quality and safety standards, and making adjustments to machines to optimize performance and accuracy. The role involves routine maintenance of equipment, documentation of production activities, and collaboration with engineering, quality, and production teams to resolve issues and improve processes. The Machinist is expected to follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean and organized work area, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications

• Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machines, including setup, tooling selection, and basic programming or parameter adjustment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions, with solid understanding of machining tolerances and fits.
• Experience using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) and performing in-process and final inspections to meet quality standards.
• Knowledge of metalworking processes such as milling, turning, drilling, tapping, and finishing, along with proper material handling practices.
• Familiarity with manufacturing safety standards, lockout/tagout procedures, and maintaining a safe, organized work environment.
• Basic computer skills for accessing work orders, recording production data, and communicating with team members.
• Prior experience in a production or aerospace/defense manufacturing environment is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in machining or manufacturing technology is a plus.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift materials as needed within safety limits, and work assigned shifts, including possible overtime.
