QC Inspector
SUMMARY: The Quality Control (QC) Inspector will work closely with our production, quality and project delivery teams to accurately ensure that the organization is delivering high-quality parts and solutions supporting projects that demand exceptional craftsmanship and quality. The candidate must be willing and eager to work in an ISO-9001compliant small company, fast-paced environment where each employee wears multiple hats and fully embraces the get-it-done attitude. The position will report directly to the organization quality manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include, but not limited to:
- Perform receiving, in-process and final inspections for quality, appearance and compliance with customer specifications. Use inspection, test and computing equipment to verify product conformance to quality control standards,
- Thoroughly understand quality procedures and processes while identifying improvement opportunities with regard to procedures, standards, methods and equipment to facilitate work and maintain product quality
- Perform advanced quality control activities such as hardness testing, visually inspecting welds to AWS D1.1 along with special process verification (painting, plating) and internal auditing
- Support and maintain raw material and hardware certifications.
- Initiate, support and maintain the reject reports, rejection databases and inspection records.
- Perform inspections of outgoing shipments to confirm the correct parts and quantity are packed before leaving control of the Quality Management System.
- Analyze and resolve work problems and assist workers in solving problems and recognize when an issue requires Engineering support to properly address.
- Understand, witness and record results of chemical testing in Paint Shop
- High school diploma or GED, 3-5 years related experience in quality control in a manufacturing environment, or an equivalent combination of education or experience
- Must be experienced in using inspection equipment such as mechanical gauges, micrometers, calipers, thread gauges, optical comparators, dial indicators, and other measurement tools as needed.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret safety and procedures furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Ability to follow documented procedures and standards, read and understand drawings, specifications and procedures and to clearly and effectively communicate orally and written with other employees and suppliers in a professional manner.
- Basic understanding of using MS Office software such as Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Regularly required to stand for extended periods of time.
- Work within a production environment that is noisy and not conditioned
- Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
- Frequently must bend, reach, and stoop.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
